Tuttlingen, Germany, 08.03.2017 – The family-owned German company Paul LEIBINGER is presenting the versatile possibilities offered by continuous inkjet technology for marking packaging to trade show visitors at Interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany. In addition, the company is presenting the LEIBINGER V-check vision system, an efficient monitoring system for the quality control of printed data.

The LEIBINGER "made in Germany" continuous inkjet printers are ideal for high-contrast marking of packaging made from materials such as cardboard, plastic, shrink wrap, foam, glass or metal. These can be used to print on every imaginable surface, such as flat, concave, convex and structured or rough. The inkjet coders print fixed or variable data without contact, during ongoing production and with fast-drying inks. The printing allows the application of simple text, serial numbers, best before dates, various fonts, logos, all common barcodes and DataMatrix codes as well as PPN codes.

At Interpack, LEIBINGER is presenting the models from its JET3up and JET2neo printer series, which are ideal for the packaging industry. For example the JET3up PRO features protection class IP65, making it ideal for package marking and coding for food in a wet or dusty production environment. The JET3up PI enables the reliable implementation of marking and coding of dark packages with white or light inks. The JET3up RAPID is the perfect solution for high-speed production up to 1000 m/min.

The automated Sealtronic nozzle seal prevents the ink in the printer from drying out even during long breaks in production and provides a key benefit to customers on all LEIBINGER small-character inkjet printers. During a machine stoppage, the gutter and the nozzle form an airtight circuit: No ink can leak out of the circuit and no air can get in. Even after long shut-down periods, the LEIBINGER printers are ready to print within one minute, without any rinse cycles.

The automated JETmotion XY traverse system, when used with the WINJET3 XY software, enables the imprinting of entire product ranges from left to right and from top to bottom. This software calculates the optimum travel path on the XY linear system before printing and then adapts the path automatically to the quickest processing time. This saves time and makes production more efficient.

In addition, LEIBINGER is presenting the trade show visitors with an intelligent print and monitoring system from a single source that increases customer satisfaction and saves long-term costs. The V-check vision system can be used to carry out a quick and cost-efficient check of the product markings applied using a JET3up or JET2neo printer. To do so, V-check compares elements with fixed definitions, such as characters, numbers or graphics, to a reference sample in advance automatically and detects incorrect or smeared printing.
