Keep production flowing

Coding and marking of flow wrap

Food producers like the flexibility of flow wrap. It is a lightweight material that can be used to package a variety of products while minimizing transportation costs and making them look good on the shelf. It also enables food producers to easily alter the portion size of products like salty snacks and confectionery. However, printing directly onto the low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and flexible metallized films used for flow wrap is not always easy.

Why LEIBINGER?

LEIBINGER printers were designed to deliver accurate, legible, non-contact printing onto a variety of surfaces – and is used all over the world to print onto the uneven and non-absorbent surface of flow wrap. Our printers are also designed to fit in with typical food production environments, providing specialist printers, such as the JET3up PRO offering IP65 protection, and pressurized printhead technology to combat airborne dust particles. LEIBINGER printers also offer Sealtronic technology, which minimizes start-up time and maximizes productivity.

LEIBINGER printers are perfect for coding on flow wrap:

  • Sealtronic for fast start-up and high productivity
  • Suitable for high-speed production - up to 806 m/min
  • Highly legible on uneven, non-absorbent surfaces
  • Specialist inks for good print adhesion on challenging materials
  • FDA-compliant inks available
  • High-quality German engineering
  • IP65 protection available

Our solutions

LEIBINGER coding & marking systems

All LEIBINGER labeling systems are equipped with the unique nozzle lock technology. When idle, the printers automatically and 100% airtightly seal the print nozzle and allow the ink to continue to circulate. This prevents the ink from drying out. LEIBINGER labeling systems therefore do not require cleaning when starting or after printing. Time and cost savings, a clean production environment, high availability, consistently high print quality and maximum reliability are your LEIBINGER advantages.

Your industry

Building, construction and garden

Built for the great outdoors

Coding and marking for building, construction and garden

Products and materials used in the building, construction and garden industries need to be built to last – and the same applies to the markings used to provide traceability and regulatory compliance. Many materials in use demand a coding and marking solution that is robust, flexible and hard-working.

Cereals, flour and baked goods

Say goodbye to dust-related downtime

Coding and marking of cereals, flour and baked goods

Packaging printers need to be able to keep up with production line speeds, which is especially important in the baked goods industry where freshness is crucial. Airborne flour particles also make this a problematic environment for many continuous inkjet printers. Producers need to choose coding and marking equipment that is reliable, fast and equipped to handle this demanding environment.

Coffee and tea

Wake up and smell the productivity

Coding and marking of coffee and tea

High dust levels and extremely high line speeds make tea and coffee packaging systems a demanding coding and marking environment. In order to guarantee the quality and consistency of end products, cleanliness is also a key factor.

Confectionery and snacks

Tasty ideas for faster production

Coding and marking of confectionery and snacks

Confectionery products and snacks need to be coded at high speed, using fast-drying inks. New formulations, flavors, sales promotions and packaging sizes also increase the risk of costly coding errors and require coding and marking solutions that are reliable, fast and flexible.

Convenience products

A convenient way to boost production

Coding and marking of convenience products

Designed for the convenience of the customers, these are products that come in an ever-changing range of packaging formats, such as shrink wrap, foil and cardboard. Also, since the information to be coded onto the packaging changes frequently, coding solutions must be highly flexible. The coder must also be able to withstand the extreme temperatures, high humidity and dust levels that are a feature of the industry, and should use inks that are suited to the surface of the packaging.

Cosmetics and personal care

Take personal care of productivity

Coding and marking for cosmetics and personal care products

Marking cosmetics and personal care products takes place according to an international agreement – referred to as the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) – and applies to both ingredients and fragrances. Additionally, throughout the EU, such articles must have a use-by date if their shelf life is less than 30 months. Coding is also used as an anti-counterfeit measure and to aid traceability.

Dairy

A fresh approach to production efficiency

Coding and marking of dairy products

The dairy business is shaped by short product shelf lives and stringent hygiene requirements. Dairy producers also face regularly changing packaging designs, the ever-increasing variety of types and flavors, and frequent production changes. Coding and marking of packagings therefore requires equipment that can print expiration dates and other such information reliably and efficiently on a variety of surfaces.

Detergents, home care and cleaning

A polished performance

Coding and marking for detergents, home care and cleaning products

Cleaning and care products are subject to stringent international directives, which require information such as UFI (Unique Formula Identifier) codes to be printed on the product packaging – whatever shape or type of surface it may be. With packaging ranging from the curved metallic surfaces of spray cans to smooth plastic containers, coding and marking solutions must be flexible and must operate at high speed.
